Thomas Alan Cook

October 20, 1946 — October 4, 2022

Thomas Alan Cook of Murfreesboro, TN passed peacefully and surrounded by his family on October 4, 2022 at the age of 75.  He was born on October 20, 1946, to Alfred and Loretta Cook in Melrose Park, IL.

Tom is survived by his wife of 51 years Pat (Caruso) Cook, his son Tom Cook Jr. (Jorge Padron) of Lombard, IL and daughter Cathy Cook (Kimberly) of Christiana, TN; his brothers Al “Butch” Cook (Nadine), Bill Cook, and Michael Cook as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Cook and mother, Loretta Cook.

Tom joined the US Navy and served six years, including time in Vietnam, as an aircraft mechanic.  After serving his country, Tom and Pat built their life in Villa Park, IL where Tom enjoyed being a drummer in a band with his buddies, bowling, showing his 1969 Chevelle SS, and raising their two children.  After retirement Tom and Pat moved to Murfreesboro, TN where he spent his golden years playing with his dogs and yelling at the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks on TV.  Tom will be remembered as a man who was passionate about cars, sports, politics, and most importantly his friends and family.

A memorial service in the Chicago area will be held in the near future.
