Stephen Edward Taylor

May 25, 1970 — February 27, 2023

Nashville, TN

Stephen Edward Taylor of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully at Summit Medical Center after a short illness on Monday, February 27th, 2023, at the age of 52.

Steve was a lifelong resident of Nashville and a graduate of Father Ryan High School (Class of 1988).  He spoke often about and loved his time at Father Ryan. He loved his high school years, and they clearly loved him back.  It was more than a school to him – it was a family where he built loving relationships and made sure everyone felt welcomed and greeted with an abundance of smiles and kindness.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Anne Taylor Robinson, brother-in-law, Billy Robinson, nephew, Will Robinson and niece, Anna Claire Robinson. He grew up with an enormous extended Davis family and we would be remiss not to mention their impact on his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Allen Taylor and mother, Joanne Dunn Taylor.

Steve had a passion for many things but, two in particular – family and The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish.  He would spend his free time with Anne and her family, making memories, going on vacations together, and watching Notre Dame sports. He was able to join them for anything in support of his niece and nephew. Whether they were traveling to Chattanooga for a football game, celebrating a birthday or other special milestone, taking a baseball centered spring break beach trip, watching one of Anna Claire’s plays or Miracle League games -Uncle Steve was always a proud spectator.

Steve was also an icon and beloved staff member at the Scoreboard Bar & Grill where he worked for 27 years. From what we hear, there are many Steve stories to circulate but reserved for the bar crowd only. He made a lasting impression on anyone who met him, and we hope it continues and carries through the bar in stories, songs and shenanigans. He is already missed by all who knew him.

Details regarding a visitation will be announced soon.

A celebration of life for friends and family will be held at the Scoreboard Bar & Grill on Saturday, March 18th from 11:30am-2:30pm.
