Shirley Pickett Norris

DURHAM- Mrs. Shirley Pickett Norris, 79, passed away, Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Mrs. Norris was born June 13, 1943 to the late Carl and Irene Pickett in Durham, NC. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Durham. Mrs. Norris loved her cats and enjoyed watching television and movies. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Norris is preceded in death by her husband, George Layton Gowan.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her son, William Gowan.

A visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Hudson Funeral Home.

Flowers are acceptable.

A small gathering will be held after the visitation at 3539 Gibson Road, Durham, NC 27703.
